About

My Story.
My Philosophy.

Daniel Rees is an experienced athlete in several areas including road, track and trail running, including ultra marathons. Dan has been a qualified running coach for over 20 years, training  athletes from those just starting out with recreational running, through to elite level athletes representing the state.

After growing up in Albury/Wodonga,  Daniel was made head coach at Wodonga Athletic Club as well as senior boundary head coach at Albury Umpires League. He went onto boundary umpire 4 Ovens and Murray grand finals as well as compete as a state finalist on the track in the 800m, 1500 and 3,000m steeplechase.

As his running progressed through the years Daniel went onto be a state representative for Victoria in the U/20 6km XC where he finished in the top 20 at national level. He also won many  of Albury/Wodonga’s major fun runs, including Nail Can Hill Run, The Dash for Cash, Cumberoona Run, Rutherglens Muscat Run, Mt Beauty 10 and the Twin Cities Post Fun Run.

After much consideration, it was time for Daniel to test his athletic ability against the best in Victoria. In 2002 he moved to Melbourne where he competed in the Victorian State Track Championships and Victorian Cross Country championships. Over the next few years Daniel won three of the Super Sunset Series at Melbourne Zoo, Princess Park and the Tan, as well as winning the Spring into Shape Series on several occasions.

Daniel lives in Bundoora and has 2 kids Michala and Grayson. He is kept busy in the role of Head Coach at Diamond Creek Runners, and operating his own business.
